Ey, Huguito! ¿Está de corresponsal de La Nación en DC, no? ¡Y como ha crecido la familia!

¿Has engordado o es la barba? Curioso lugar, WDC. Si vuelves, trata de desayunar en la sede de National Geographic, es inolvidable.

Shit! They just asked me to make a photo. These tourists, absolutely unknown people… why not? Let it be today’s good deed. “Of course, encantado”, and I made it. “Thanks, very kind of you!” Yes, yes, “de nada señor”. Now, it seems they are known everywhere! In up to three continents! Someone knows the bearded one, some other the child on top. As Thomas A. Edison said, when jumping out of the bathtub: “world is a handkie”.

However, nobody says anything about the photograph itself. It wasn’t easy. Getting a warm red and pink tones picture (notice the jackets, the umbrella, the awning, the neon sign, the car lights, the other side sidewalk, this side sidewalk, the girl’s shoes, the feeding bottle, the two red traffic lights) within a grey urban landscape (notice everything else). Cutting the frame by their knees, not to undervaluating them by showing their dusty sneakers. Selecting a slow shutter, to attain a speedy moving car’s image. Waiting for the little girl to look right, and so driving the barbado, at left, to the center of the theme. Saying “limón” at the right time, to have everyone’s teeth shown. Amazing. Live. Asombrosing. Just Art.

But, not a single word about. Nothing tampoco about the author. No name at the photo’s caption. Nada.

Gibb, hay que mostrar un respeto hacia las personas de cierta edad: ese señor -querrás decir- se ha comido a Alberto.
